Since Covid, I’ve made quite a few changes to my business. The studio is the most prolific of all. It’s fair to say that I have come full circle with this acquisition as those who knew me when I was a kid, would remember the days (aged 16) when I use to go to a studio in the back streets of Allerton in my home town of Liverpool to learn the basics of studio photography. Rob, I think his name was, a curious chain-smoking slight man with a moustache. He also had a darkroom for colour and black and white printing where I learned I loved this creative avenue.

Roll forward 35 years, here I am with my very own portrait studio in the Baltic Quarter of Liverpool. I’ve realised that I love creating portraits, family heirlooms, and cherishing photographs of loved ones that may or may not be still with us.

During 2020 without parties every week, I realised there was a heavy-hearted hole in people’s history and I wanted to fill it one family portrait at a time. I wanted to keep shooting on doorsteps, in gardens, and parks and finally, I realised the next step was to create a space where I could create modern, stylish, and fun studio sessions that you couldn’t wait to hang on walls again.

I find it so exciting to not only create the light but to make people feel loved and cared for in my experienced hands. I have been shooting families for over 12 years now so I feel extremely privileged to open the studio doors to my community.

Over a couple of hours in my studio, you’ll be treated to a bespoke makeup session, offered refreshments, listened to, offered outfits to try on from my clothes rail or encouraged to wear your own outfits which will style your shoot your way. Whatever happens, it’s an oppurtunity to treat yourself and to have time to create future memories for you and your loved ones.
